The Cremation of Sam McGee is a stop motion animation I created in high school. It took well over a month to make, and it also got me a college scholarship. A couple things I learned were stop motion is hard and time consuming, yet it is very artistically satisfying, and I enjoy the process.
The poem is by Robert W. Service, who is often called "the Bard of the Yukon". The story is told by a prospector in the Yukon, who promises to cremate his mate, Sam McGee, when Sam dies from the cold. I have always found the poem's use of hyperbole amusing. I hope you enjoy it too!
